1. Emphasize Soulful Melodies and Jazzy Chords
Isaiah Rashad’s signature sound often incorporates jazzy chord progressions and soulful melodies that evoke deep emotions. Start by selecting electric piano, Rhodes, or soft synth patches that deliver warm, smooth tones. Use seventh, ninth, or suspended chords to add harmonic richness. Layering these chords with subtle guitar licks or vocal samples can enhance the texture further.
2. Create Laid-Back Drum Patterns
The drum arrangement should be understated yet groovy to keep the beat flowing smoothly without overpowering the melody. Use soft kick drums, crisp hi-hats with slight swing, and snappy snares or rimshots. Incorporate subtle ghost notes and hi-hat rolls to add movement. Avoid aggressive trap-style drums; instead, focus on a relaxed tempo usually between 70 and 90 BPM.
3. Add Warm and Deep Bass Lines
A warm, round bass is essential for grounding the beat. Use an electric bass or synth bass with a smooth attack. The bass line should complement the chord progression and drum groove without being too busy. Keep the bass rhythm simple and melodic to maintain the chill vibe typical of Isaiah Rashad type beats.
4. Incorporate Atmospheric and Ambient Elements
To capture the introspective mood, add ambient sounds such as vinyl crackle, soft pads, or subtle sound effects. These layers create depth and space within the beat, making it feel more immersive. Use reverb and delay effects tastefully on instruments and samples to enhance the atmosphere.
5. Structure the Beat for Versatility
Isaiah Rashad’s music often features dynamic arrangements that evolve throughout the track. Structure your beat with clear intro, verse, chorus, and bridge sections by varying instrumentation and dynamics. Use breakdowns or filtered parts to allow vocalists room to breathe and express emotion.
6. Use High-Quality Samples and Sounds
Quality is key when producing any type beat. Choose professionally recorded and mixed samples or sounds for your drums, instruments, and effects. Free Isaiah Rashad type beats like "Self Made" from BSM MUSIC offer clean, polished sounds that are ready to inspire your project.
